Mia Measures Up!

A fractions picture book for kids, one scoop at a time.

Mia and Grandma are baking an apple crumble pie, and every scoop, slice, and spoonful is a fractions lesson. Kids count half cup scoops of flour, find half as much brown sugar, cut a box of butter into fourths, put five and a half apples in the pie, and trace a half hour and a whole hour on the kitchen clock. Finger activities on almost every page let children touch the math right on the page.

• Telling time: a half hour is 30 minutes, a whole hour is 60 minutes
